GOOD TO KNOW
Common mistakes, an example and the limits.
Common mistakes
- Opening hours that differ from the Google Business Profile.
- One page with markup for several branches.
- Coordinates copied with the latitude and longitude swapped.
A worked example
A salon in Westlands enters its address, coordinates from Google Maps and two lines of hours: Mo-Fr 09:00-19:00 and Sa 10:00-16:00.
Limitations
- Builds markup from what you enter; it cannot check that the page shows the same information, which Google requires.
- Valid markup makes a page eligible for a rich result. Google decides whether to show one.
- Markup does not replace a Google Business Profile, which drives map results.
