WHAT IT MEASURES
What a domain overview shows, and which numbers are measured.
What each metric tells you, and where it comes from.
| Metric | What it tells you | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Estimated traffic | Organic visits estimated from rankings and volumes. | DataForSEO (estimate) |
| Ranked keywords | Keywords observed ranking, by position band. | DataForSEO |
| Keyword movement | New, improved, declined and lost keywords. | DataForSEO |
| Backlinks and referring domains | Link totals for the domain. | DataForSEO Backlinks |
| Domain Rating | Ahrefs’ authority metric, where the deployment has access. | Ahrefs (optional) |
| Your clicks and sessions | Measured numbers for your own site, beside the estimates. | Search Console + GA4 |
UNDER THE HOOD
How a domain overview is assembled.
How the numbers are produced, so you can judge them for yourself.
Provider data in your market
Traffic estimates, ranked keywords and movement come from DataForSEO for the domain in the market you choose.
Your site measured separately
For your own site, Search Console and GA4 numbers are shown beside the estimates with their source labels intact.
Authority where configured
Domain Rating appears only where the deployment has Ahrefs access, and is labelled as Ahrefs’ metric.
Dated estimates
Each estimate shows when it was calculated, so a months-old number is never read as live.

DATA & LIMITS
Know what the numbers can and cannot tell you.
Where the data comes from, how fresh it is, and the questions it cannot answer on its own.
| Source | What it provides | Freshness & limits |
|---|---|---|
| DataForSEO Labs | Traffic estimates, ranked keywords and movement. | Provider index; paid requests; dated. |
| DataForSEO Backlinks | Backlink and referring-domain totals. | Provider index; paid. |
| Ahrefs | Domain Rating. | Only where the deployment has Ahrefs access. |
| Search Console and GA4 | Your own measured clicks and sessions. | Your own site only. |
Estimates are dated
Provider estimates show the date they were calculated; they are not live analytics.
Authority is not Google’s score
Domain Rating and similar metrics are provider metrics, not Google ranking factors.
Coverage varies
Smaller sites and markets can have sparse provider data.
Your data wins
For your own site, measured Search Console and GA4 numbers take precedence over estimates.

FAQ
Domain overview: common questions.
Straight answers about what it does, what it costs and where its limits are.
Are traffic numbers measured or estimated?
For other domains they are DataForSEO estimates. For your own site, Search Console and GA4 measurements are shown beside them and labelled separately.
Is Domain Rating a Google score?
No. Domain Rating (Ahrefs) and Domain Rank (DataForSEO) are provider metrics, not Google ranking scores.
Does a domain overview cost credits?
Yes. Third-party estimates use paid provider requests. Your own Search Console and GA4 data is free.
Can I look up any domain?
Yes. Enter a domain or URL and choose the market.
Can I look up any domain?
Yes. Domain overview works for any domain, in the market you choose.
Why do my own numbers differ from the estimate?
Estimates are modelled from rankings. Your Search Console and GA4 numbers are measured, so they are shown separately.
Does it cost credits?
Provider data uses paid requests. Your own Search Console and GA4 numbers are free to read.
Can I export ranked keywords?
Yes. Ranked keywords export for analysis.
What are the limits of the data?
Provider authority scores are not Google ranking scores. Data availability depends on configured integrations and provider coverage; estimates should not replace your own measured data.
How do I get access?
