LINK ANALYSIS
Orphan Page Detector
An orphan page has no internal links pointing to it. Search engines may still find it through a sitemap, but it gets little crawling and no internal link value, and visitors cannot reach it from your navigation. Finding orphans takes two lists: every page that exists, and every page linked from another.

HOW IT WORKS
How to use the Orphan Page Detector
Two pastes: known pages (sitemap XML, a pages export or a list) and linked pages (a crawler’s export).
Paste your sitemap XML, or a Search Console or analytics pages export, as the known pages.
Paste the link destinations from a full site crawl as the linked pages.
Link each orphan from a relevant page, or remove it if it should not exist.
WHAT IT CHECKS
What it looks at, and how to read it.
Known pages with no internal link pointing at them, with a CSV export.
What it checks
- URLs in the first paste not found in the second
- Lists from different hosts
How to read the results
- Orphans that get search traffic are worth linking first.
- Old campaign pages and test pages often turn up; remove or redirect those.

GOOD TO KNOW
Common mistakes, an example and the limits.
Common mistakes
- Using a partial crawl as the linked list, which makes many pages look orphaned.
A worked example
In the example, /phones/old-model/ is in the sitemap but no crawled page links to it.
Limitations
- Only as complete as the crawl you paste: a page linked from somewhere the crawl did not reach will look orphaned.
- Treats http and https, and a trailing slash, as the same page; different hosts (www and non-www) stay different.
