Separate URL discovery, crawl activity, inspected status and change notifications when reviewing a website’s indexing.
Discovery is the starting inventory
A URL appearing in a sitemap or performance dataset tells you something about how it was found. It does not establish that the page is currently indexed or that the latest content has been processed.
Inspection is an observation
Google URL Inspection returns the available status for a checked URL. It is subject to quotas and is not a universal live crawl. The documented deployment uses a daily budget below Google’s property limit; large sites are checked progressively rather than all at once.
Server logs show a different event
Verified Googlebot records show requests that reached the configured collection point. They help explain crawl timing and response patterns. A request is not proof that the page entered the index.
Notifications are not guarantees
IndexNow informs participating engines about changed URLs. It does not submit to Google or guarantee indexing. Bing submission and Google inspection are distinct tools with their own rules.
Choose the next check from the evidence
Review the page response, robots controls, canonical signal, sitemap inclusion and available inspection result. Make a relevant correction and verify it; do not repeatedly submit URLs to avoid investigating the underlying issue.
Explore the connected tools
This guide explains the documented Ndovu workflow. Availability, permissions and provider coverage are reviewed for the deployment you use.
